“Get to work. Your work is to keep cranking the flywheel that turns the gears that spin the belt in the engine of belief that keeps you and your desk in midair.”
― Annie Dillard, The Writing Life

The important thing to know about writing is that it involves risk and discipline. And fear. First fear, and then the other two. It’s about singing the song that’s in you, even if it’s Nickelback.*

The important thing to know about me is that I’m a coward that takes risks. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, have eight kids in a blended marriage, write novels, ride horses, run marathons with grandma knees and love teaching. All of those parts of my life take work and a willingness to fail and then try again.  I want you to help you take good risks too. Fail and then get better. Let’s do it.

*Nickelback should never have happened and I can’t sing. But I can write. And so can you.
