Some Days Just Give You The Bird

Today has been a day of strange birds. Defrosted birds. Barbecued birds. Angry birds… and rare aroused birds.

For starters in the last twenty-four hours I had my fridge, freezer and toilet go out. They are not all together in my house in case you are wondering.

Just one of life’s little jokes.

The defrosted birds were in my freezer. So I cooked them, all of them, on the barbeque, only to discover that my fridge had gone down too. So I borrowed coolers and spent all my school visit cash on a fridge, and my day to write finding said fridge , and also locating a plumber. Not Cool. And did I mention the fridge won’t be here until Thursday? Do I sound like I’m whining? This is not whining. It’s bellyaching. There is a distinction, I think. So now that I’ve covered all the birds but one I want to show you a video… from those proper brits.

or look it up on You Tube under “Shagged by a rare parrot.”

Tomorrow I have signing at Barnes and Noble in Orem. Let’s hope it will be the day of the blue bird of happiness.

Hi Kristen! Whoa, what a day for you! I’m so glad it’s all over now – it better be! And I love what you said about there being a distinction between whining and bellyaching. 🙂

Hey, it was fantastic to meet you at the Brigham City library. I loved your presentation and it was great to chat with you afterwards. After I left, I was so mad at myself because I realized with all my yakking I forgot to tell you how awesome your presentation was and how much I loved the reading from your book. All those parts about the seagulls were so fantastic and epiphanous – I loved it! My daughter was with me and she can’t wait to read your book too!

You’re just such a warm, friendly, talented person and I’m so happy to get to know you!

P.S. I love the blue glass bird! – I gave one just like it to my Mom for her birthday years ago because I loved it so much!
